Year 7 Camp, Lady Northcote YMCA 2018

Between the 19th and 21st of February, Meadow Fair’s Year 7 boys attended a school camp at Lady Northcote YMCA near Bacchus Marsh. Over the course of the three day camp, the year 7s participated is several team building activities and personal growth challenges. The students enjoyed a diverse range of healthy food and many of them chose to go back for seconds, if there was any food left of course. Each night was brought to a close with a movie or two before being put to bed with most students asleep not long after their heads hit their pillows.

During the day, the boys built rafts out of timber and barrels, some of which floated and others attempted a re-enactment of the Titanic. They worked together to solve puzzles and participated in several sport activities, Ga Ga ball being particularly popular. One of the most popular activities of the camp was the Giant Swing standing at 21 meters tall. Special mention goes to the Green Team who managed to pull their teacher to the top of the giant swing proving that there is no better motivation than making your teacher scream. The high ropes were another highlight of the camp with several students overcoming personal fears to complete the course and walk away achieving something they believed was personally impossible.

A very special thank you goes out to Meadow Fair Year 7 & 8 Coordinator, Mr. Kowal, for running the camp and Mr. Zeybek, Mr. Ozyurek, Mr. Streets, and Mr. Barrie, for mentoring the students during the duration of the camp.

Volleyball District Champions

On the 19th of February 2018, Meadow Fair’s year 9-10, Intermediate Volleyball Team was crowned District Champions. The team played and won four of their four games to reach the Northern Metropolitan Finals.

Our champions overcame Hume Central, Roxburgh College, Gladstone Park and Aitken College to earn the title of ‘Woodlands Division Champions’.
